Acura unveils all-electric RSX prototype at Monterey Car Week

Acura has announced that it will be showcasing its all-electric RSX prototype at Monterey Car Week, giving the public a first uncamouflaged look at the electric SUV. The decision to introduce the RSX EV was first revealed during a 2025 outlook briefing by American Honda earlier this year.

The Acura RSX, a nameplate that evolved from the original Honda Integra, was a popular model in North America during the early to mid-2000s. With a dedicated fanbase, especially amongst Integra and JDM enthusiasts, the return of the RSX in an all-electric form has generated significant excitement.

The RSX EV will be the first model to utilize Honda’s new EV platform and ASIMO OS operating system, which were introduced at CES 2025. Acura will be unveiling a prototype of the electric RSX at Monterey Car Week, offering a glimpse of what the future holds for the brand.

The prototype, which is based on the Japanese automaker’s Performance EV Concept, is set to make its global debut at Monterey Car Week. Acura has confirmed that the model on display at the event will provide a preview of the new Acura RSX, with the passenger version expected to arrive at dealerships in the second half of 2026.

Monterey Car Week, known for being the premier gathering of automotive and motorsports enthusiasts, will be the perfect platform for Acura to showcase its latest innovation. The event, scheduled to begin on August 8 and run through Sunday, the 17th, will be attended by industry professionals and enthusiasts alike.
