The Aito M8, a new model from Huawei-backed Aito, has taken the Chinese market by storm since its launch on April 16. Priced at RMB 359,800 ($49,880), the Aito M8 is the brand’s fourth model and is only available in extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options.

Within just 34 days of its release, the Aito M8 has already garnered over 80,000 firm orders, a remarkable achievement that underscores the vehicle’s popularity among consumers. This impressive sales performance was highlighted by Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), signaling a strong demand for the new SUV.

Featuring six variants, the Aito M8 offers three trim options – Max, Max+, and Ultra – each available in five- and six-seat configurations. The pricing for the five-seat version starts at RMB 359,800, RMB 379,800, and RMB 429,800 respectively, while the six-seat variant is priced at RMB 369,800, RMB 399,800, and RMB 449,800 respectively.

The dimensions of the Aito M8 measure 5,190 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,795 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. This places the vehicle in direct competition with Li Auto’s Li L8 EREV, which offers three variants starting at RMB 321,800.

Aito, a premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand established by Huawei and Seres Group, has been making waves in the industry since its inception on December 2, 2021. With other models like the Aito M5, Aito M7, and Aito M9 already on the market, the Aito M8 adds to the brand’s diverse lineup of electric vehicles.

Overall, the Aito M8’s rapid success in the market reflects the growing demand for premium electric vehicles in China. With its cutting-edge technology, stylish design, and competitive pricing, the Aito M8 is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market and solidify Aito’s position as a key player in the industry.
