Aito, a new energy vehicle (NEV) brand backed by Huawei, has announced the start of pre-sales for its latest offering, the M5 Ultra SUV. Priced at RMB 238,000 ($32,680), the M5 Ultra is set to be the most powerful model in the M5 lineup. Customers who pre-order the vehicle can avail of a discount of RMB 5,000 on the final payment by paying RMB 2,000 upfront.

The standout features of the M5 Ultra include a range of upgrades across five key areas: exterior design, intelligent driving system, handling, safety features, and cabin comfort. Notably, the vehicle will be equipped with advanced technology such as a 192-channel LiDAR and 4D millimeter-wave radar, enhancing its smart driving capabilities. Additionally, the M5 Ultra will come standard with Huawei’s high-level smart driving system, ensuring a seamless and safe driving experience for users.

Richard Yu, Huawei’s managing director and chairman of the smart car solutions business unit, announced that the M5 Ultra is scheduled for release later this month. Aito, a premium NEV brand established in partnership with Seres Group and Huawei, introduced its first model, the M5, in December 2021. The brand’s current lineup also includes the M7 and the M9 models.

Last year, Aito launched an updated version of the M5, offering three variants including two extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options and one battery electric vehicle (BEV) variant. The starting prices for these variants range from RMB 249,800 to RMB 279,800. With dimensions measuring 4,785 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height, the M5 Ultra boasts a wheelbase of 2,880 mm.

As Aito continues to expand its product offerings, reports suggest that Huawei’s HIMA unit plans to double its model offerings in 2025, with the Aito M8 set to rival the Li L9. With a strong focus on innovation and cutting-edge technology, Aito is poised to make a significant impact in the NEV market.

In conclusion, the Aito M5 Ultra represents a significant leap forward in the brand’s lineup, showcasing a blend of performance, technology, and luxury. With its advanced features and competitive pricing, the M5 Ultra is set to make waves in the rapidly evolving NEV landscape. Stay tuned for more updates on Aito’s upcoming models and advancements in the smart car industry.
