Audi A6 Review 2025, Price & Specs

The C9-generation A6 is a sight to behold, with its rear windscreen sloped reminiscent of the 1980s 100 Avant and distinctive wheel arches that hint at its Quattro heritage. While opinions on its looks may vary, seeing it in person reveals a sharp and modern design.

Following the successful launch of the new A5 last year, which replaced the A4, the A6 continues Audi’s trend of sleek and sporty design. Built on the same PPC platform as the A5, the A6 offers a larger and more luxurious option for those in the market for a new vehicle.

Under the hood, the A6 features longitudinal engine placement, with the option for front-wheel drive in lower-end models or Audi’s signature Quattro all-wheel drive in higher trim levels. UK buyers can choose between a 2.0-litre petrol engine or a 2.0-litre diesel with Audi’s new MHEV Plus system, which incorporates a 24bhp electric motor and a 1.7kWh battery for added efficiency.

For those seeking more power, a 3.0-litre V6 with the same hybrid system as the S5 is available, but unfortunately not in the UK due to CO2 targets. However, an S6 model with a more powerful V6 engine is set to be released soon, catering to enthusiasts who crave performance.

In addition to traditional engine options, a plug-in hybrid variant is in the works, pairing a petrol four-cylinder with a 140bhp motor and a sizable 20.7kWh battery for enhanced efficiency.

One notable feature of the A6 is the option to add air suspension for £1755, providing a smoother ride compared to the standard passive suspension with steel coils. The suspension setup varies between Sport, S Line, and Edition 1 models, offering different levels of comfort and performance.

Overall, the A6 combines cutting-edge technology, performance, and luxury in a sleek and stylish package, making it a compelling choice for discerning buyers. Keep an eye out for the upcoming S6 model and plug-in hybrid variant, as Audi continues to push the boundaries of automotive innovation.
