Changan Automobile Acquires 10% Stake in Huawei’s Yinwang for 11.5 Billion Yuan

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Changan Automobile recently announced a significant move in the smart new energy vehicle industry. AVATR Technology, an affiliate of Changan, has signed a share transfer agreement with Huawei, acquiring a 10% stake in Yinwang, a subsidiary of Huawei, for 11.5 billion yuan.

As a result of this agreement, AVATR Technology will now hold a 10% equity stake in Yinwang, with Huawei retaining the remaining 90%. The two companies, along with Yinwang, will also enter into a shareholders’ agreement.

This development follows a previous Memorandum of Understanding signed between Changan Automobile and Huawei Technologies in 2023. The collaboration aimed to establish a company specializing in automotive intelligent systems and components, with investments from Changan and its affiliates.

Changan Automobile expressed that this new acquisition will further solidify its partnership with Huawei, propelling the company’s presence in the market and facilitating its transformation into a technology-driven enterprise focused on smart, eco-friendly mobility. The automaker underscored the importance of this collaboration in enhancing its strategic alliance with Huawei.

Shenzhen Yinwang Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., founded in 2024, is primarily engaged in the manufacturing of smart in-car devices, automotive component research and development, basic AI software development, and more. The company operates from Huawei’s headquarters in Shenzhen.
