The Kia EV9 is making waves in the automotive industry with its family-friendly form factor and impressive battery power. Named the Best Car To Buy 2024, the EV9 has returned for the 2025 model year mostly unchanged. Our top pick, the 2025 EV9 Wind, comes with a price tag of around $66,000.

The EV9 stands out with its sleek and aerodynamic design, setting it apart from its competitors while still maintaining the distinctive Kia brand identity. The interior is tech-forward, featuring a digital display-rich dashboard that reflects its innovative origins in South Korea.

What truly sets the EV9 apart is its electric powertrain. Available with either a 76.1-kwh battery pack for 230 miles of range or a larger 99.8-kwh pack for up to 304 miles of range, the EV9 offers both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive options. Despite its size and weight, the EV9 handles exceptionally well, providing a smooth and responsive driving experience.

Inside, the EV9 offers ample space for passengers and cargo, with the option for either six or seven seats. Safety features such as automatic emergency braking and adaptive cruise control come standard, along with a host of tech amenities including wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, and wireless smartphone charging. Additionally, the EV9 is equipped with bidirectional charging, allowing it to serve as a backup power source in emergencies.

While the interior may not be as luxurious as some of its competitors, the EV9’s combination of luxury, technology, and performance make it a standout choice in the three-row SUV segment. Priced at $66,000 for the dual-motor Wind configuration, the EV9 offers a compelling value proposition when compared to rivals like the Rivian and Range Rover. For these reasons, the Kia EV9 retains its title as the Best SUV To Buy 2025.
