Blink Charging just threw a lifeline to EVBox Everon customers

EVBox Everon, a prominent player in the EV charging market, is closing down its operations across Europe and North America. This decision has left many charging station hosts and drivers in a state of uncertainty as they wonder what the future holds for them. However, in the midst of this transition, Blink Charging has emerged as a support system for those affected by the shutdown of Everon.

Blink Charging, a well-established EV charging provider, has stepped up to offer assistance to Everon customers who are looking for guidance and solutions during this challenging period. Whether it involves maintaining existing chargers or replacing outdated equipment with new Blink chargers, Blink is ready to support customers in any way possible.

Alex Calnan, the Managing Director of Europe at Blink Charging, reassured Everon customers by stating, “With the recent announcement of Everon’s withdrawal from the EV charging market, it’s natural to have questions about what this means for operations. At Blink, we want to assure Everon customers that we are here to help them navigate this transition.”

Blink Charging is equipped to provide advice, replacements, and ongoing network management to facilitate a smooth transition for Everon users. Customers who make the switch to Blink will gain access to the Blink Network portal through the Blink Charging app. This portal offers real-time insights into charger usage, enables hosts to set pricing, manage users, and download performance reports.

Calnan emphasized that Blink’s charging technology is future-ready, with features like vehicle-to-grid technology on the horizon. The company has chargers in stock and readily available for shipping to assist Everon customers looking to make the transition.

In a move that shocked the industry, France’s Engie announced in October 2024 that it would liquidate the entire EVBox group, which had incurred total losses of €800 million since Engie’s takeover in 2017. As a result, EVBox is ceasing its operations in the Netherlands, Germany, and the US.

The support and assistance provided by Blink Charging to Everon customers highlights the importance of a reliable and responsive network in the EV charging industry. As the market continues to evolve, companies like Blink are crucial in ensuring a seamless transition for customers affected by unexpected changes in the industry.
