BMW Unveils Plans for Neue Klasse Revamp
BMW is set to revamp its lineup with the introduction of the Neue Klasse, a new generation of vehicles that will redefine the brand’s design and technology. The revamp will include updated versions of popular models such as the X5, 2 Series, X2, 7 Series, and X7, following the recent refresh of the 5 Series.
In a recent interview with Autocar, BMW’s product boss Bernd Körber explained that the Neue Klasse will encompass a new approach to all aspects of the vehicles, including engines, digital features, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
Körber revealed that the Neue Klasse will be launched on a dedicated BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) platform with models like the iX3 and 3 Series leading the way. The rollout of the Neue Klasse across BMW’s entire portfolio is expected to be completed within three and a half years.
One of the key goals of the Neue Klasse is to create a more cohesive and modern design language across all BMW models. Design boss Adrian van Hooydonk emphasized the importance of ensuring that the new-era BMW vehicles do not make the current lineup appear outdated.
Van Hooydonk stated, “We will make sure that the form language that we are developing now will be rolled out over the entire product portfolio, leaving no car behind. We’re going to change the look and feel of the BMW brand to ensure a consistent and contemporary aesthetic.”
With the introduction of the Neue Klasse, BMW is signaling a new chapter in its design and technology evolution. The brand’s commitment to innovation and modernization is evident in its bold approach to reshaping its entire vehicle lineup.
