Experience the Luxurious Interior of the iX1 M Sport
Step into the iX1 M Sport’s modern and spacious interior and you will be immediately impressed. The cabin is remarkably roomy for its class, offering plenty of storage options, hooks, and cubby holes, along with a stylish floating centre console.
Compared to its rivals such as the Volvo EX40 and Audi Q4 E-tron, the iX1 M Sport stands out with its use of luxurious materials. The cabin features aluminum accents throughout, with soft-touch materials on the dashboard and armrests. The finely machined metal speakers add a touch of elegance to the interior.
Our M Sport test car came equipped with a panoramic sunroof, allowing natural light to fill the cabin and create a welcoming atmosphere. The standard sports seats offer a blend of firmness and comfort, providing excellent support for long journeys.
While the higher trim levels boast premium materials and finishes, the entry-level models may feature less extravagant materials that lack the same level of sophistication.
Rear passengers will appreciate the generous amount of space in the iX1, with room for three passengers and ample legroom. The boot space is also impressive, measuring 490 litres, which can be expanded by folding down the 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats.
While the iX1 offers a spacious interior, it falls short of the Tesla Model Y in terms of cargo space, with the Model Y offering 854 litres. The iX1’s sliding rear seats are not available on the electric version, and the EV variant sacrifices some rear legroom.
The focal point of the iX1’s interior is its infotainment system. All models come equipped with a 10.7-inch touchscreen display and a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, running BMW’s latest 9th generation operating system. The system includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity for seamless smartphone integration.
While the infotainment system is visually appealing, some may find it less intuitive to use, as BMW has opted to streamline the controls through the touchscreen interface. This may require multiple taps to perform simple tasks like adjusting climate controls or accessing certain features.
The digital driver’s display offers a clearer interface with steering wheel controls for easier navigation, but some users may find the layout a bit cluttered and lacking in efficiency.
Despite some usability issues with the infotainment system, the iX1 excels in providing a comfortable and quiet ride, thanks to its excellent seats and noise isolation.
