BMW Group has officially announced a new partnership with Momenta, a leading Chinese driver-assist technology company, to jointly develop advanced driver assistance solutions tailored specifically for the Chinese market. This collaboration marks a significant step for BMW in expanding its presence in China’s digital innovation landscape and enhancing its technology portfolio in the region.

The partnership will initially focus on co-developing and integrating systems for the Neue Klasse, a key model for BMW in the Chinese market. By combining their expertise and resources, BMW and Momenta aim to enhance the driving experience for Chinese customers by leveraging Intelligent Interaction, Control, and ADAS technologies. The focus will be on developing software solutions tailored to Chinese road networks, traffic conditions, and user expectations, utilizing advanced AI algorithms and data-driven development methods.

Dr. Mihiar Ayoubi, senior vice president of BMW’s Driving Experience division, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership between like-minded partners will enable us to offer our customers in China a truly unique automated driving experience. By combining our years of safety expertise with local driving knowledge and cutting-edge Chinese AI technologies, we are setting a new standard for automated driving solutions.”

Sean Green, CEO of BMW Group Region China, also highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration expands BMW’s engagement with Chinese tech companies beyond digital ecosystems and AI-based user interaction into the realm of ADAS technology. It underscores our commitment to delivering innovative solutions tailored to the needs of Chinese customers.”

In addition to the partnership announcement, BMW also encouraged industry professionals to participate in the prestigious Just Auto Excellence Awards, a renowned program that celebrates innovation, leadership, and impact in the automotive industry. Nominations are now open for the awards, providing companies with the opportunity to showcase their achievements, highlight industry advancements, and gain global recognition. This is a chance for industry leaders to be recognized among the best in the industry and submit their nominations for consideration.
