The Bovensiepen Family Launches New Coachbuilding Business with 600bhp Super-GT
The Bovensiepen family, renowned for founding BMW tuning house Alpina, has ventured into the world of coachbuilding with the introduction of a powerful new super-GT at the prestigious Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza.
Following BMW’s acquisition of Alpina, the Buchloe-based family has decided to redefine their focus by establishing themselves as creators of exceptional automobiles that embody the essence of superior driving experiences.
The inaugural project from the newly formed Bovensiepen brand is the Zagato, a striking two-door grand tourer crafted in collaboration with the esteemed Italian design house of the same name.
Zagato, known for its collaborations with luxury car manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Ferrari, Bentley, Maserati, and Alfa Romeo, has imbued the Bovensiepen Zagato with a unique and elegant design that reflects the traditional aesthetic of the Milanese design studio.
Derived from the BMW 8 Series platform, the Bovensiepen Zagato is equipped with a potent 3.0-litre straight six engine generating an impressive 603bhp and 516lb ft of torque. This powertrain enables the Zagato to accelerate from 0-62mph in just 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed exceeding 186mph, according to Bovensiepen’s claims.
