BYD Launches Pre-Sales of New Electric Sedan, Seal 06 EV

BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has officially launched the pre-sales of its latest all-electric sedan model, the Seal 06 EV. The announcement was made on the opening day of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show, also known as the 2025 Shenzhen auto show.

The Seal 06 EV comes with a pre-sales price range of RMB 120,000 ($16,670) to RMB 150,000. The electric sedan is expected to have its official launch in the second quarter of this year, possibly later this month.

This new addition to the Seal family made its debut at the 2025 Shanghai auto show in April. It continues the Seal family’s design language and offers a pure electric mid-size sedan experience. The Seal 06 EV boasts dimensions of 4,720 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.

All models of the Seal 06 EV filed by BYD are single-motor variants, with maximum motor power options of 110 kW and 160 kW. These powertrains support top speeds of 160 km/h and 180 km/h, respectively.

The Seal family initially started as an electric sedan but has since expanded to include multiple sedan models. The current lineup includes the hybrid Seal 05 DM-i, hybrid Seal 06 DM-i, hybrid Seal 07 DM-i, all-electric Seal 06 GT, and the all-electric Seal sedan. These models have starting price ranges from RMB 79,800 to RMB 239,800.

In April, BYD reported impressive sales figures, with a total of 380,089 new energy vehicles (NEVs) sold, marking a year-on-year increase of 21.34 percent and a month-on-month increase of 0.71 percent. The Seal family alone sold 26,051 units in April, reflecting a significant year-on-year increase of 82.57 percent, despite a month-on-month decrease of 41.54 percent.

BYD is set to reveal its NEV sales figures for May later today, further solidifying its position in the electric vehicle market.

With the Seal 06 EV’s pre-sales underway and a promising lineup of electric vehicles, BYD continues to make waves in the automotive industry. Stay tuned for more updates on BYD’s innovative offerings and impressive sales performance.
