The Z9 made its debut on the opening day of the 2024 Guangzhou auto show, offering both plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions starting at RMB 334,800 ($46,320), the same price as the Z9GT.

The e3 technology is based on the Xuanji architecture and features a tri-motor independent drive system with dual-motor independent steering at the rear wheels.
In terms of performance, the Denza Z9 BEV boasts a front motor with a peak power of 230 kW and a peak torque of 430 Nm, while both rear motors deliver 240 kW of power and 360 Nm of torque. This powertrain enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds. On the other hand, the Z9 PHEV features a front motor with 200 kW of power and 315 Nm of torque, along with rear motors producing 220 kW of power and 360 Nm of torque, allowing the vehicle to reach 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds.
The Z9 BEV is powered by a 100 kWh BYD blade battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 630 km. In contrast, the Z9 PHEV is equipped with a 38.5 kWh blade battery pack, providing a battery range of 201 km and a combined range of 1,101 km on a full tank of fuel and charge.
Denza had previously launched the Z9GT, the first model in its Z series, which also comes in three PHEV variants and two BEV variants. In October, Denza delivered a total of 10,781 vehicles, including 3,089 units of the Z9GT, according to data from CnEVPost.
Overall, the Denza Z9 combines luxury, performance, and cutting-edge technology to deliver a premium driving experience for discerning customers.
