BYD’s premium brand Denza is set to launch the updated N9 on September 17, aiming to strengthen its presence in the large luxury SUV market. This move comes just six months after the initial launch of the N9 in March, making it one of the fastest-refreshed models under BYD’s umbrella.

The N9, which sold 2,021 units in August, has accumulated a total of 20,136 units sold so far. The SUV offers two variants, with prices starting at RMB 389,800 ($54,700) and RMB 449,800. This six-seat hybrid SUV is Denza’s flagship model, boasting impressive dimensions of 5,258 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width, and 1,830 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm.

Powered by BYD’s e3 technology, the N9 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds, despite its weight of up to 3,245 kg. In late May, the N9 reached a significant milestone with its 10,000th delivery, with BYD’s chairman and president personally handing over the milestone vehicle to the founder of UBTech Robotics.

Denza’s sales have been on the rise, with August seeing a 20.06 percent year-on-year increase, totaling 11,993 units sold. This includes 8,712 units of the D9 MPV, 1,102 units of the Z9 series, 2,021 units of the N9, and 158 units of the N7. The N9’s cumulative sales reached 20,136 units by the end of August.

In addition to the N9, Denza has filed for a new SUV, the N8L, which is expected to be launched in the second quarter of next year. The N8L is a slightly scaled-down version of the N9, offering similar luxury features and performance capabilities.

With renowned Chinese actress Gao Yuanyuan serving as the brand ambassador for the updated N9, Denza is poised to make a strong impact in the luxury SUV market. Stay tuned for the official launch of the 2026 Denza N9 on September 17, as it continues to elevate the standards of luxury SUVs in the market.
