BYD, a leading electric vehicle manufacturer, has officially entered the Argentine market with the introduction of three new models. The company unveiled the all-electric Dolphin Mini and Yuan Pro, as well as the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) Song Pro DM-i on August 27. These models are part of BYD’s global expansion strategy, with Argentina being a key market for the company.
The Dolphin Mini, known as the Seagull in China, the Yuan Pro (Yuan Up), and the Song Pro DM-i are now available for pre-orders in Argentina. These vehicles are part of BYD’s commitment to promoting new energy vehicles (NEVs) and advancing charging infrastructure development in the country.
Deng Yuan, BYD’s country manager for Argentina, highlighted the importance of the Argentine market for the company’s regional growth. BYD plans to introduce a range of NEV models in Argentina and work towards enhancing the availability of charging stations for electric vehicles.
In July, BYD recorded global NEV sales of 344,296 units, showing a slight year-on-year increase of 0.56 percent but a 10.01 percent decrease from the previous month. Overseas sales reached 80,737 units in July, marking a significant 169.00 percent year-on-year growth despite a 10.34 percent decline from the previous month.
In related news, BYD recently decided to postpone its plans to build a major car manufacturing plant in Mexico due to geopolitical tensions and uncertainties stemming from trade policies. This decision reflects the company’s strategic approach to navigating global challenges and focusing on sustainable growth opportunities.
Overall, BYD’s entry into the Argentine market with its latest electric vehicle models underscores the company’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and expanding its presence in key markets worldwide. Stay tuned for more updates on BYD’s developments in the electric vehicle industry.
