The company unveiled five models in Serbia, including four pure electric vehicles and one hybrid model. The electric models introduced are the Sealion 07 EV, Yuan UP, Yuan Plus, and the pure electric sedan Seal, along with the hybrid SUV Song Plus DM-i. These vehicles cater to different consumer preferences and offer a sustainable transportation solution for the Serbian market.
The Sealion 07 has been renamed as the Sealion 7 in Serbia, while the Yuan UP, Yuan Plus, and Song Plus DM-i have been given local names as Atto 2, Atto 3, and Seal U DM-i, respectively. BYD also announced plans to introduce more models, such as the Dolphin hatchback, in the country in the near future.
Stella Li, the executive vice president of BYD, expressed the company’s commitment to making sustainable technologies accessible to a wider audience in Europe. She emphasized the importance of expanding into new markets like Serbia to achieve this mission.
The first BYD store in Serbia is located in Belgrade, specifically on Bulevar Milutina Milankovića. Additionally, BYD intends to establish three more sales and service centers across the country by the end of the year to enhance customer support and accessibility.
The Atto 2 and Atto 3 models are designed to meet the diverse needs of urban and suburban consumers, offering compact size, maneuverability, and advanced technology features. The Sealion 7 SUV, equipped with a powerful blade battery, boasts impressive acceleration and a long-range capability, making it a flagship model in BYD’s European lineup.
In the first two months of the year, BYD reported strong NEV sales, including significant contributions from overseas markets. The company sold a total of 623,384 NEVs globally, with 133,361 units sold in international markets, accounting for over 20% of the total sales volume.
BYD’s expansion into Serbia reflects its continued efforts to promote sustainable mobility solutions and establish a strong presence in key markets worldwide.
