BYD Expands Year-End Promotion to Include Song Pro DM-i and Qin Plus EV
BYD, a leading Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker, has recently extended its year-end promotion to cover the Dynasty series’ Song Pro DM-i and Qin Plus EV models. This move comes after similar discounts were offered for some models in the Ocean series over the past two days.
The limited-time discounts announced by BYD bring the starting prices of the second-generation Song Pro DM-i and Qin Plus EV Glory Edition down to RMB 99,800 ($13,670) each, valid until January 26.
The Song Pro DM-i, equipped with BYD’s latest DM 5.0 technology, was officially launched on September 23 with a starting guide price of RMB 112,800. This compact SUV measures 4,735 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, 1,710 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,712 mm.
On the other hand, the Qin Plus EV Glory Edition, a compact sedan model, was introduced on February 19 at a starting guide price of RMB 109,800. It boasts dimensions of 4,765 mm in length, 1,837 mm in width, 1,495 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,718 mm.
With the latest discounts, the Song Pro DM-i sees a price reduction of RMB 13,000 (11.52%), while the Qin Plus EV Glory Edition is discounted by RMB 10,000 (9.11%). Additionally, customers can benefit from subsidies of up to RMB 4,000 for the Song Pro DM-i and up to RMB 5,000 for the Qin Plus EV Glory Edition.
Moreover, buyers of both models are eligible for a national trade-in subsidy of up to RMB 20,000, as mentioned in BYD’s promotional materials.
This expansion of discounts from the Ocean series to the Dynasty series is part of BYD’s strategy to attract more customers during the holiday season. The promotions, which include discounts and free vehicle insurance, are set to end on January 26, just before the Chinese New Year holiday starting on January 28.
In November, BYD Group sold 506,804 NEVs, including 504,003 passenger cars and 2,801 commercial vehicles. The company’s NEV sales for the January-November period reached 3,837,632 units, representing a 40.25% year-on-year increase.
Looking ahead, BYD aims to achieve annual sales of 4.25 million vehicles in 2024, as stated by the company’s chief scientist Lian Yubo earlier this month.
Overall, BYD’s expansion of its year-end promotion to include the Song Pro DM-i and Qin Plus EV models reflects its commitment to offering attractive deals to customers and driving sales growth in the competitive NEV market.
