Fang Cheng Bao, a sub-brand of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), recently achieved a significant milestone by delivering its 100,000th vehicle. This achievement comes just 18 months after the brand’s first vehicle was delivered in November 2023. The announcement was made on Weibo, with Fang Cheng Bao being recognized as one of the top three fastest car brands in China to reach 100,000 deliveries.

In April alone, Fang Cheng Bao sold 10,039 vehicles, bringing its cumulative sales to 91,351 units. This means that the brand has already delivered approximately 8,650 units in the current month. The brand’s success can be attributed to its innovative models and expanding product lineup.

Fang Cheng Bao officially launched its brand and technology platform, DMO, on August 16, 2023. The debut model, Bao 5 off-road SUV, was introduced on the same day and deliveries commenced by the end of November 2023. Subsequently, the brand launched the Bao 8 off-road SUV on November 12, 2024, featuring Huawei’s driver assist system.

In April 2025, Fang Cheng Bao expanded its product range with the introduction of the Tai 3, the first model in its Tai lineup, which caters to family SUVs. The brand is known for exploring the premium electric vehicle (EV) market, with the Bao 8 being priced at around RMB 400,000 yuan ($55,440) on average from January to April.

Currently, Fang Cheng Bao’s lineup consists of three SUV models – Bao 5, Bao 8, and Tai 3. The Bao 8 is the most expensive model, starting at RMB 379,800 to RMB 407,800 in China, while the Bao 5 ranges from RMB 239,800 to RMB 329,800, and the Tai 3 starts at RMB 133,800 to RMB 193,800.

Looking ahead, Fang Cheng Bao is set to introduce its first sedan later this year, expanding its product offerings beyond SUVs. The brand’s general manager, Xiong Tianbo, revealed in an interview that the sedan lineup will be unveiled by the end of the year, along with additional models in the Tai lineup.

With BYD setting a car sales target of 5.5 million units for 2025, including over 800,000 in overseas markets, Fang Cheng Bao’s success is expected to contribute significantly to achieving this ambitious goal. The brand continues to innovate and evolve, positioning itself as a key player in the competitive EV market.
