BYD’s sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao is set to launch the Tai 7 hybrid SUV in the fourth quarter, adding to its Tai series lineup which currently includes the Tai 3. The Tai 7 boasts the largest interior space among Fang Cheng Bao’s existing products and is designed to cater to urban driving needs.

This hybrid SUV features a battery range of up to 180 kilometers and has a combined range exceeding 1,300 kilometers when fully fueled and charged. The Tai 7 adopts a unibody chassis design, offering a spacious interior for passengers. It measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, and 1,865 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm.

Equipped with BYD’s God’s Eye smart driving system, the Tai 7 will be available in both LiDAR-equipped and non-LiDAR versions. The all-wheel-drive long-range version comes with a 35.6-kWh battery pack, while the two-wheel-drive standard-range version features a 26.6-kWh battery pack.

Fang Cheng Bao’s sporty DNA is evident in the design of the Tai 7, which aims to meet a wide range of urban driving needs. The model does not currently have a pure electric version planned for the short term.

Fang Cheng Bao, a sub-brand of BYD, officially launched on August 16, 2023, and offers a range of products under the Bao and Tai series. The Bao series focuses on hybrid off-road SUVs, while the Tai series targets the family car market.

The Tai 7 was teased by Fang Cheng Bao last month and has since been added to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s regulatory filing catalog. The brand experienced record sales in June, with a year-on-year increase of 605.34 percent. In the first half of this year, Fang Cheng Bao sold 60,746 vehicles, marking a year-on-year increase of 232.25 percent.
