BYD’s sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao is set to officially launch the Tai 3 SUV, the first model in the brand’s Tai lineup, with pre-sales starting at RMB 139,800 ($19,040). The launch date is scheduled for April 16, according to a report from local automotive media outlet Yiche.

Test drives for the Tai 3 are already available at 278 Fang Cheng Bao showrooms in 148 cities across China. This new model is the first in Fang Cheng Bao’s Tai range and is the most affordable option compared to the brand’s other two models, the Bao 5 and Bao 8 off-road SUVs.

Pre-sales for the Tai 3 began on March 31, offering five variants with different starting prices based on rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options. The vehicle boasts a five-seat capacity and dimensions of 4,605 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,720 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,745 mm.

Equipped with a dual-motor system, the Tai 3 delivers impressive performance with a front motor generating 110 kW and a rear motor producing 200 kW, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. All variants offer a range of 501 kilometers, with varying battery pack capacities.

Charging capabilities are equally impressive, with the Tai 3 supporting up to 237 kW charging power, enabling the vehicle to charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes. The model also features BYD’s God’s Eye C smart driving system, with the DiPilot 100 smart driving solution.

In March, Fang Cheng Bao reported a significant increase in deliveries, with 8,051 vehicles sold, marking a 126.79 percent year-on-year growth and a 62.91 percent increase from February’s sales figures. The brand’s success is a testament to its commitment to innovation and delivering high-quality electric vehicles to the market.
