BYD Fang Cheng Bao unveils new Tai lineup, 1st model coming in H1 2025

Fang Cheng Bao, a sub-brand of BYD, recently introduced its new Tai lineup, representing the brand’s second major product series after the Bao lineup. The Tai series is set to cater to the family car market, with a strong focus on innovative technology, safety features, individual style, and cockpit design.

The first model in the Tai series is the Tai 3 mid-size SUV, scheduled for release in the first half of 2025. The name “Tai” is derived from titanium, a versatile element known for its strength and flexibility in various applications.

Unlike the Bao series, which prioritizes off-road capabilities with a body-on-frame design, the Tai series will feature a more family-friendly unibody construction. This shift in design philosophy aims to broaden Fang Cheng Bao’s product offerings in the hardcore vehicle segment.

The Tai 3 is the production version of the Super 3 concept previously unveiled by Fang Cheng Bao. The model showcases a starfighter-inspired design with sleek lines and a sculpted metal body structure, emphasizing individuality and style.

Key specifications of the Tai 3 include dual electric motors, with the front motor producing 110 kW and the rear motor 200 kW. The model will be available in two versions, weighing 2,170 kg and 2,265 kg, respectively, and capable of reaching a top speed of 201 kilometers per hour. The Tai 3 will be powered by lithium iron phosphate batteries supplied by BYD’s battery division, FinDreams Battery.

Manufacturing of the Tai 3 will take place at BYD’s production bases in Xi’an, Shaanxi province, and Changzhou, Jiangsu province. The model offers seating for five passengers, with dimensions measuring 4,605 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,720 mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2,745 mm.

Fang Cheng Bao’s Tai lineup represents a significant expansion of the brand’s product portfolio, catering to the evolving needs of families seeking a balance of performance, safety, and style in their vehicles. With a strong emphasis on cutting-edge technology and design, the Tai series aims to set new standards in the family car market.
