BYD Jun sales breakdown: Song 59,026 units, Seagull 51,295

BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) recently released its June sales figures for new energy vehicles (NEVs), showcasing the performance of various models and sub-brands within the company.

The Song family models continued to lead as the best-selling lineup for BYD, with a total of 59,026 units sold in June. Despite a 15.94 percent year-on-year decrease, the Song family maintained its position at the top of the sales chart.

The Dynasty series Song models, including Song L EV, Song L DM-i, and Song Pro DM-i, as well as the Ocean series models Song Plus EV and Song Plus DM-i, contributed to the overall sales performance of the Song family. The Dynasty series sold 27,731 units in June, while the Ocean series sold 31,295 units.

The BYD Seagull emerged as the second-best-selling model for BYD in June, with a total of 51,295 units sold. This marked a significant 42.23 percent year-on-year increase for the Seagull, solidifying its position in the market.

Additionally, the BYD Seal, with 44,387 units sold, and the Qin family models, with 44,042 units sold, showcased strong sales performance in June. The Seal saw an 81.86 percent year-on-year increase, while the Qin family experienced a 35.66 percent decrease compared to the previous year.

The Sealion family, which includes the Sealion 07 EV, sold 34,757 units in June, marking a substantial 400.10 percent year-on-year increase. The BYD Yuan family, on the other hand, sold 25,727 units, reflecting a 28.97 percent year-on-year decrease.

Other notable models included the BYD Dolphin, Han, Tang, Chaser 05, Xia MPV, and e2, each contributing to BYD’s overall sales performance for the month.

In total, BYD’s passenger vehicles, including the Dynasty series and Ocean series, sold 336,255 units in June, representing a 3.51 percent year-on-year increase. The Dynasty series sold 139,489 units, while the Ocean series sold 196,766 units.

Furthermore, the Denza brand, known for its premium vehicles, sold 15,783 units in June, showing a 28.58 percent year-on-year increase. The personalized sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao also saw impressive sales figures, selling 18,903 vehicles in June.

Overall, BYD’s NEV sales in June reached a new high for the year, despite facing challenges such as a decrease in the month-on-month growth rate. The company continues to innovate and expand its product lineup to meet the evolving demands of the market.
