BYD recently introduced the Sealion 07 DM-i hybrid SUV, a sibling model to the Sealion 07 EV in the Sealion family. This new addition comes in three variants, with prices starting at RMB 169,800. The Sealion 07 DM-i is part of BYD’s Ocean series and is built on the fifth-generation DM hybrid technology, which promises lower fuel consumption.

Measuring 4,880 mm in length, 1,920 mm in width, and 1,750 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, the Sealion 07 DM-i is powered by a 1.5T engine with a 60 L fuel tank. The engine boasts a peak power of 115 kW and peak torque of 225 Nm. The two lower-priced variants are single-motor front-drive models with 200 kW peak power and 315 Nm peak torque, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. The highest-priced variant includes a rear motor with 150 kW peak power and 340 Nm peak torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds.

Equipped with a blade battery pack featuring a capacity of 26.6 kWh and a CLTC battery range of 135 km to 150 km, the Sealion 07 DM-i has a hybrid range of up to 1,320 kilometers when fully charged and fueled. The SUV comes with driver assistance systems, including God’s Eye C for the lower-priced variants and God’s Eye B for the highest-priced variant, providing advanced functionalities like DiPilot and NOA.

The Sealion 07 DM-i also supports the optional Ling Yuan drone system, a collaboration between BYD and DJI. As the fourth model in the Sealion family, it follows the success of the Sealion 07 EV, Sealion 05 DM-i, and Sealion 05 EV. In April, BYD sold 26,220 units of the Sealion family, marking a 44.66 percent increase from the previous month.

With BYD’s ambitious goal of selling 5.5 million cars in 2025, including over 800,000 in overseas markets, the introduction of the Sealion 07 DM-i contributes to the company’s growth and innovation in the electric vehicle market. This latest hybrid SUV showcases BYD’s commitment to providing environmentally friendly and technologically advanced vehicles to consumers.
