BYD Introduces New Discounts on Smart Driving Tech

Despite the warnings, BYD continues to introduce new discounts, making waves in the electric vehicle market. On Wednesday, BYD’s luxury off-road brand, Fang Cheng Bao, announced a significant discount on Huawei’s smart driving technology, further solidifying its position as a leader in the industry.

Earlier this year, BYD made headlines by slashing prices on 22 of its vehicles by up to 34%, sparking a price war panic in the market. The move prompted other automakers in China to follow suit, but BYD’s aggressive pricing strategy has set them apart from the competition.

One of BYD’s most popular electric vehicles, the Seagull, saw a price drop from $10,000 to under $8,000 after the discount, making it even more appealing to consumers. The company’s commitment to affordability and innovation has made them a top choice for electric vehicle buyers in China.

Now, BYD is offering a limited-time discount on Huawei’s Qiankun Intelligent Driving High-end Function Package, cutting the price to just 12,000 yuan ($1,700). This represents a savings of over 50% compared to the usual price of 32,000 yuan ($4,500), making it an attractive option for buyers looking to upgrade their smart driving capabilities.

In addition to the discount on smart driving tech, BYD recently launched the Tai 3, its most affordable vehicle yet, starting at 139,800 yuan ($19,300). The Tai 3, which is comparable in size to the Tesla Model Y but costs half as much, has been well-received by consumers looking for a budget-friendly electric SUV.

Fang Cheng Bao, BYD’s luxury off-road brand, has seen impressive sales numbers, with 18,903 vehicles sold last month, a 50% increase from May and a 605% increase from last year. The brand has now sold over 10,000 vehicles for three consecutive months, solidifying its position in the market.

Overall, BYD sold 382,585 vehicles in June, marking a 12% increase from last year. In the first half of the year, BYD’s cumulative sales reached over 2.1 million, representing a 33% year-over-year increase. The company’s commitment to affordability, innovation, and sustainability has positioned them as a leader in the electric vehicle industry.

As BYD continues to introduce new discounts and expand its product offerings, it remains a key player in the evolving electric vehicle market, setting the standard for affordability and innovation in the industry.
