BYD has recently introduced a new wagon variant of its popular hybrid sedan, the Seal 06 DM-i, expanding its Seal family product lineup. The Seal 06 DM-i Touring Edition boasts a starting price of RMB 109,800 ($15,320) and offers a range of up to 2,000 km. This hybrid model can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.7 seconds, making it a powerful and efficient option for consumers.

The wagon variant of the Seal 06 DM-i features a slightly larger body than the regular sedan model, measuring 4,850 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,505 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,790 mm. The design of the Touring Edition follows the style of the regular Seal 06 DM-i but with a higher rear end to provide additional storage space for users.

Under the hood, the Seal 06 DM-i Touring Edition is equipped with a 1.5L gasoline engine delivering 74 kW of power. It also features an electric motor with a peak power output of 120 kW or 160 kW, allowing for quick acceleration and a seamless driving experience. The model is powered by BYD’s blade battery technology, offering different battery range options depending on the variant.

With a fuel consumption of 3.15 liters per 100 kilometers when the battery is depleted, the Seal 06 DM-i Touring Edition offers a remarkable range of up to 2,000 kilometers when fully fueled and charged. This makes it a versatile and reliable option for drivers looking for a hybrid vehicle with an impressive range.

The Seal family originally started as an electric sedan but has since expanded to include multiple models catering to different consumer preferences. The Seal 06 EV pure electric sedan, launched recently, has been a welcome addition to the lineup, alongside other hybrid and electric models in the family.

In China, wagon-type vehicles are considered a niche market, but with the rise in popularity of models like the Seal 06 DM-i Touring Edition, more automakers are exploring the wagon segment to meet diverse consumer demands. BYD’s success in the market is evident with the Seal family’s strong sales performance, contributing significantly to the company’s overall sales figures.

Overall, the BYD Seal 06 DM-i Touring Edition offers a compelling combination of performance, efficiency, and versatility, making it a standout choice in the hybrid wagon segment. With its sleek design, advanced technology, and impressive range, this model is set to attract discerning consumers looking for a reliable and stylish hybrid vehicle.
