BYD Sees Mixed Results in August NEV Sales

BYD‘s passenger BEV sales in August rose 34.43 percent year-on-year, while PHEV sales fell 22.69 percent.
BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) experienced stagnant sales in the new energy vehicle (NEV) segment in August, with a slight increase of 0.15 percent year-on-year, totaling 373,626 units. However, there were notable differences in the performance of battery electric vehicles (BEV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV).
BEV sales for passenger vehicles reached 199,585 units, showing a substantial growth of 34.43 percent compared to the previous year and a 12.20 percent increase from the previous month. On the other hand, PHEV sales stood at 171,916 units, marking a decline of 22.69 percent year-on-year but a slight uptick of 5.38 percent from the previous month.
