BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) is set to unveil its latest addition to the Ocean series, the Seal 06 EV, at the upcoming Chongqing auto show on June 7. This all-electric sedan is the sister model of the Qin L EV from the Dynasty series and promises to offer a blend of style, performance, and affordability.

The Seal 06 EV made its debut during the pre-sales event at the Shenzhen auto show on May 31, where eager buyers got a first look at the sleek design and impressive features of this electric sedan. With a pre-sales price range of RMB 120,000 to RMB 150,000, the Seal 06 EV aims to attract a wide range of consumers looking to make the switch to electric vehicles.

Measuring 4,720 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm, the Seal 06 EV offers ample space for passengers and cargo. It boasts a single-motor configuration with maximum power outputs of 110 kW and 160 kW, enabling top speeds of 160 km/h and 180 km/h, respectively.

The Seal family has expanded to include various sedan models, such as the hybrid Seal 05 DM-i, hybrid Seal 06 DM-i, hybrid Seal 07 DM-i, all-electric Seal 06 GT, and all-electric Seal. These models cater to different preferences and budgets, with starting prices ranging from RMB 79,800 to RMB 239,800.

In May, BYD reported impressive sales figures, with a total of 382,476 vehicles sold, representing a 15.27 percent year-on-year increase. The Seal family contributed significantly to these numbers, with 25,587 units sold in May alone.
