BYD recently announced the upcoming launch of the Sealion 05 EV, the latest addition to its Ocean series of electric vehicles. Set to debut on March 25, the Sealion 05 EV will be based on a brand-new technology platform and will come equipped with the innovative God’s Eye C smart driving system. This system, known as DiPilot 100, will provide advanced driving assistance, while the DiLink 100 smart cockpit will offer a seamless and connected driving experience.

The Sealion 05 EV boasts a rear-drive architecture with an impressive turning radius, setting it apart from other vehicles in its class. BYD has also released new images showcasing the SUV’s sleek exterior design, giving enthusiasts a closer look at what to expect from this model.

Initial details from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) catalog reveal that the Sealion 05 EV will come in two versions, weighing 1,780 kg and 1,670 kg, respectively. Both variants will have a top speed of 180 km/h and will be powered by a single motor with peak power options of 140 kW and 160 kW. Additionally, customers can choose between two battery pack capacities – 50.048 kWh and 60.928 kWh – offering ranges of 430 km and 520 km, respectively.

The Sealion 05 EV’s dimensions, as listed in the MIIT catalog, include a length of 4,520 mm, width of 1,860 mm, height of 1,630 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. These dimensions slightly differ from the hybrid Sealion 05 DM-i, which was launched last year with a longer body and wheelbase.

With its cutting-edge technology, impressive performance specifications, and stylish design, the BYD Sealion 05 EV is set to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new model from BYD.
