BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) is set to unveil its latest electric vehicle offering, the Qin L EV, on March 12. This affordable, all-electric sedan is part of BYD’s Dynasty lineup and will be launched at the company’s Shenzhen headquarters.

The Qin L EV is built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 Evo platform and features the God’s Eye C smart driving system, specifically the DiPilot 100. This system enhances the overall driving experience and safety of the vehicle.

One of the standout features of the Qin L EV is its impressive range of 545 kilometers, thanks to the rear-motor rear-wheel drive system. This ensures that drivers can enjoy extended driving without the need for frequent recharging.

The launch event for the Qin L EV is scheduled to begin at 7:30 pm Beijing time on March 12, as per invitations circulating on Chinese social media. This event will mark the official introduction of the sedan to the market.

The Qin L EV follows the success of BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 Evo, which was launched in May 2024. This platform has already been utilized in the Sealion 07 EV, the first model of the all-electric SUV based on this technology.

In terms of dimensions, the Qin L EV measures 4,720 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm. The electric motor delivers a maximum power of 110 kW and a top speed of 160 kilometers per hour.

BYD has not disclosed the pricing details for the Qin L EV yet. However, the company’s hybrid sedan, the Qin L DM-i, has been well-received in the market, with prices starting at RMB 99,800 ($13,770).

The Qin family, which includes models like the Qin Plus DM-i and the Qin Plus EV, has been a bestseller for BYD. In 2024 alone, the Qin family sold 732,252 units, contributing significantly to BYD’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sales.

Overall, the Qin L EV represents BYD’s commitment to providing innovative and affordable electric vehicles to a wider audience. With its advanced technology and impressive range, this sedan is poised to make a significant impact in the electric vehicle market.
