Yangwang, the luxury sub-brand of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), has unveiled its latest creation at the Shanghai auto show – the U8L SUV. This new model is a stretched version of Yangwang’s first model, the U8, and is set to hit the market in the second half of this year.
The U8L boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 5,400 mm in length, 2,049 mm in width, and 1,921 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,250 mm. These measurements exceed those of the original U8, making the U8L one of the largest SUVs in its class. Additionally, the U8L offers a spacious second-row seating area, making it a comfortable ride for both driver and passengers.
One of the standout features of the U8L is the use of three oracle gold badges crafted from 24-carat real gold, adding a touch of luxury and prestige to the model. While Yangwang has not disclosed the pricing of the U8L, it is expected to be significantly more expensive than the U8 due to its enhanced features and larger size.
The Shanghai auto show, where the U8L was unveiled, runs from today until May 2, with Yangwang showcasing its latest offerings at booth 8A02. This launch comes on the heels of previous successful models from Yangwang, including the U8, U9 electric supercar, and U7 sedan.
The U8L is the latest addition to Yangwang’s lineup of high-end vehicles, with the brand recently celebrating its 10,000th delivery milestone. With a growing reputation for luxury and performance, Yangwang is making a mark in the competitive automotive market.
