BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has achieved a significant milestone with its global model, the Yuan Plus, also known as the Atto 3 in various overseas markets. The company recently announced on Weibo that it has reached the impressive one million sales mark with this popular electric vehicle (EV).

The Yuan Plus is part of BYD’s Dynasty series Yuan family, which includes four different models: the Yuan Plus Smart Driving Edition, Yuan Plus Honor Edition, Yuan Up Smart Driving Edition, and the standard Yuan Up. Launched in China in February 2022, the Yuan Plus is BYD’s first SUV based on the e-platform 3.0, its pure electric platform designed for global markets.

With a starting price range of RMB 115,800 ($16,110) to RMB 145,800 in China, the Yuan Plus has proven to be an affordable yet high-quality option for consumers. Despite higher prices in overseas markets due to additional costs like tariffs and transportation expenses, the model has seen tremendous success since its launch.

The Yuan Plus reached the 300,000 units sold milestone within just 14 months of its release and has now achieved an impressive one million units sold in just 39 months. This success adds to the overall milestone of the Yuan family, which surpassed 1.5 million units sold as of June 19.

BYD’s sales data for May further solidifies the popularity of the Yuan family, with 31,711 units sold during that month alone. Overall, BYD sold 382,476 vehicles in May, representing a year-on-year increase of 15.27 percent and a month-on-month increase of 0.63 percent. Additionally, the company sold 89,047 NEVs overseas in May, marking the sixth consecutive month of record-breaking sales.

The achievement of one million sales for the Yuan Plus is a testament to BYD’s commitment to producing high-quality EVs for the global market. As the company continues to expand its offerings and reach new milestones, the Yuan Plus remains a standout model in its lineup.
