BYD’s Xi’an Factory Exceeds Annual Output Target, Produces 1 Million Vehicles
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD’s Xi’an factory has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing its annual production target of 1 million vehicles as of December 13. This marks the first time the facility has reached this impressive output volume in a single year, as reported by “Xi’an High-tech”, the official WeChat account operated by the local authority.

Located in Xi’an Hi-Tech Industries Development Zone, BYD’s Xi’an factory is the company’s largest single car manufacturing facility nationwide. The factory’s operations span various sectors such as new energy vehicles (NEVs), automotive parts, consumer electronics, rail transit, power batteries, and automotive finance, creating a comprehensive ecosystem that includes R&D, production, sales, and aftermarket services.

The Xi’an factory currently operates four assembly lines simultaneously, producing between 4,000 to 4,400 vehicles per day, which has been instrumental in achieving an annual output exceeding one million units.
Xi’an High-Tech Zone has made significant strides in cultivating the NEV industry, accelerating the development of NEV manufacturing and its supporting industries. The region has established a complete industrial chain that includes vehicle testing, charging and battery-swapping facilities, automotive finance, lithium battery recycling, vehicle maintenance services, and vehicle production.
Through strategic investments in BYD’s vehicle manufacturing project, the Xi’an High-Tech Zone has strengthened its industrial chain by attracting leading companies in the power battery sector such as Samsung SDI-ARN (Xi’an) Power Battery and Xi’an FinDreams Battery, as well as global giants in automotive parts like United Automotive Electronic Systems, Faurecia, Yanfeng, and Aden Group.
With an average annual growth rate of 33.43% from 2018 to 2023, the automotive industry in Xi’an High-Tech Zone has flourished, hosting around 87 enterprises within its supply chain. The NEV sector, in particular, has shown rapid development and growth.
