The Callum company is breaking new ground with its latest creation, the Skye. Ian Callum, design chief at Callum, expressed confidence in the uniqueness of their product, stating that they don’t see any direct competition. In fact, they are so confident in their design that they are open to testing it in the open for the world to see.

One of the key focuses for Callum is usability. Ian Callum emphasized the importance of making the car as user-friendly as possible. Ingress into the Skye is said to be easier than some sports cars, with the interior drawing inspiration from the spaciousness of classic Porsches. This dimensional benchmark has guided the design process to ensure that the Skye is enjoyable for a wide range of users.

Despite their growing team, with over 20 staff members, Ian Callum has made it clear that Callum intends to remain “small and agile.” The Skye marks the first completely new model from Callum, following successful projects such as the reimagined Aston Martin Vanquish and various product design ventures.

In a Q&A session, Ian Callum shed light on the decision to launch a versatile vehicle like the Skye as their first own-brand product. While a sports car was considered, they opted for a design that showcases their flexibility across different vehicle types. Looking ahead, Callum plans to continue creating bespoke cars, moving away from being solely an agency for other brands.

When asked about potential production numbers for future projects, Ian Callum hinted at the possibility of manufacturing their own cars in batches of up to 1000. With a wealth of experience in car creation, the team is confident in their capabilities to deliver beautifully crafted vehicles with unique design elements.
