Caterham CSR Review 2024, Price & Specs

Caterham has recently introduced the CSR Twenty, boasting about the luxurious upgrades made to its interior. The new materials used are more elegantly applied, giving the car a more refined feel. However, despite these enhancements, the interior of the CSR Twenty still maintains its signature Seven style – snug and basic.

The seats of the CSR Twenty are now softly finished, complemented by carpets and a cushiony soft leather finish on the center console. Alcantara highlights add a touch of sophistication, along with a numbered plaque for that exclusive touch. The dashboard features a satin carbon finish, adding a modern touch to the classic design.

For those who are taller or wider, the CSR Twenty is the ideal variant as it offers ample room for a more comfortable driving experience. However, some may find the pedal box to be too spacious, making heel and toeing a bit challenging for those with smaller feet.

The interior is functional and straightforward, with a non-adjustable Momo steering wheel, short gearshift throw, and simple dials and toggle switches. Despite its performance-oriented design, the CSR Twenty still offers practical features such as a heater, a 12V socket, and a mohair-lined boot for added convenience.

While the hood may not be considered plush by some, it has been improved over the years to offer a tighter fit and better protection from the elements. Putting the hood up and down may still be a hassle, but features like a heated windscreen help make driving in inclement weather more bearable. However, adjusting the mirrors can be a bit tricky as they are attached to the doors and cannot be adjusted from inside the car.

Safety features include standard four-point harnesses, providing security but also requiring some extra effort to fasten properly. Sitting low in the CSR Twenty, drivers may find themselves blinded by the headlights of taller vehicles, prompting the suggestion of adding tinted film to the mirrors for added comfort.

Overall, the Caterham CSR Twenty offers a unique driving experience with its blend of classic design and modern features. Despite its compact interior, it provides ample comfort and convenience for drivers looking for a thrilling ride.
