Avatr 11 facelift has made its way into the Chinese market, offering an EREV option and a competitive starting price of 279,900 yuan (38,400 USD). This updated SUV coupe, a product of the collaboration between Changan and CATL, is aimed at increasing the brand’s sales volume.

Avatr, established in 2018 as a joint venture between Changan and Nio, saw CATL replace Nio in the partnership later on. Huawei also became a key supplier for Avatr. The brand’s first model, the Avatr 11, was introduced to the Chinese market in August 2022 and has achieved a cumulative sales figure of 30,403 units. To further entice customers, Avatr has now launched the facelift version of the Avatr 11 with the optional EREV powertrain.

The updated Avatr 11 retains its distinctive design language created by Nader Faghihzadeh, who has a background of 17 years at BMW. The SUV coupe features two-story headlights, a sleek roofline, retractable door handles, and a single taillight strip. The facelift includes a redesigned front bumper, while the dimensions of the Avatr 11 stand at 4895/1970/1601 mm with a wheelbase of 2975 mm.

Inside, the Avatr 11 boasts a triple-screen layout with a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch main screen, and a 10.25-inch monitor for the front passenger. Standard features include 25 Meridian speakers, a large panoramic roof, and two wireless charging pads in the center tunnel. The second row offers seating options for either three or two passengers.

The most significant update to the Avatr 11 is its powertrain. The EREV option features a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that acts as a generator, supplying energy to the battery and electric motors. The EREV model comes with a single e-motor in the rear axle, generating 231 kW (310 hp) and is powered by CATL’s Freevoy LFP battery with a 39 kWh capacity, offering a range of 225 km. The combined range of the Avatr 11 EREV reaches 1,065 km.
