CAES and CITIC Financial Leasing Join Forces to Drive Battery Swapping Ecosystem Development

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Contemporary Amperex Energy Service Technology Ltd. (CAES), a subsidiary of CATL, recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CITIC Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., a financial leasing platform owned by China CITIC Bank. The collaboration aims to advance the modular battery swapping ecosystem, improving the efficiency and diversity of battery swapping services.

The partnership between CAES and CITIC Financial Leasing will focus on providing users with a seamless and convenient energy replenishment experience through battery swapping technology. By leveraging their expertise and resources, the two companies plan to explore innovative financial leasing solutions within the battery swapping ecosystem.

The collaboration aims to address key challenges such as range anxiety, refueling inconvenience, and high ownership costs. CAES introduced its modular battery swap solution, EVOGO, in January 2022 to tackle these issues. CITIC Financial Leasing, known for its excellence in green leasing, will contribute its financial expertise to support the commercialization of battery swapping technology.

This strategic partnership signifies a significant step towards integrating financial innovation with battery swapping ecosystem development. It underscores the growing importance of battery swapping technologies in the new energy vehicle industry and sets the stage for further advancements in the sector.
