Changan Automobile Sets Sights on European Market Expansion

Changan Automobile recently hosted its 2025 Changan Europe Brand Event in Germany with the theme “Sharing the Future”. The event showcased nine new models across its three major brands—CHANGAN, DEEPAL, and AVATR—while outlining its strategic roadmap for expanding into the European market.

By the end of 2025, Changan Automobile aims to establish a presence in at least 10 European regional markets, with plans to operate across the entire continent by 2028. To kickstart this initiative, the Chinese automaker will introduce nine new models in Europe over the next three years, including the DEEPAL S07 set to launch in the second quarter of this year.

Changan Automobile is committed to investing in localized research and development, manufacturing, and establishing over 1,000 sales and service outlets in Europe. The company also plans to recruit more than 1,000 local employees as part of its “In Europe, For Europe” strategy.

The three brands under Changan—CHANGAN, DEEPAL, and AVATR—have been strategically positioned to cater to different consumer segments. CHANGAN focuses on mainstream family users with reliable and practical mobility solutions, while DEEPAL targets younger customers with tech-forward and stylish models. AVATR, on the other hand, is positioned as a premium intelligent new energy vehicle brand for trendsetting consumers.

Changan Automobile has already signed its first distribution agreement in Norway with Motor Gruppen, with plans to open dealerships in the second quarter of this year. In Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK, the company will operate national sales companies, with Germany already hosting its first dealership. The UK is set to have up to 60 showrooms by the end of 2025.

To bolster its presence in Europe, Changan Automobile is actively building local teams and collaborating with key service providers. The company has signed agreements with Kuehne + Nagel and Allianz Partners for logistics, insurance, and service solutions to ensure top-tier customer support. Additionally, through its global user brand “withU”, Changan aims to provide seamless and personalized customer service.

With its sights set on achieving global sales of 3 million vehicles in 2025 and delivering 5 million vehicles annually by 2030, Changan Automobile’s European market expansion marks a significant milestone in its globalization strategy.
