Changan Automobile Achieves 4.07% Year-on-Year Sales Growth in October 2024

Chinese automaker Changan Automobile has reported a 4.07% increase in monthly sales volume for October 2024, with a total of 250,832 vehicles sold. This marks a positive trend for the company, showcasing steady growth in the competitive automotive market.

In the first ten months of the year, Changan Automobile has sold a total of 2,155,811 vehicles, representing a 2.14% year-over-year increase. The company’s wholly-owned brands accounted for 1,797,364 units of these sales, with 1,328,832 units being passenger cars. This demonstrates a strong performance in the domestic market for Changan Automobile.

Additionally, Changan Automobile has seen success in international markets, with 318,553 vehicles from its wholly-owned brands being sold overseas in the January to October period. This includes a significant increase in exports, with 30,831 units shipped in October alone, marking a 33.9% year-on-year growth.

In the realm of new energy vehicles (NEVs), Changan Automobile has made significant strides, selling a total of 532,890 NEVs in the first ten months of 2024. October saw a particularly impressive performance, with 85,272 NEVs sold, representing a 48.6% increase compared to the previous year. This highlights the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation in the automotive industry.

Changan Automobile’s joint ventures have also played a role in its overall sales performance. Changan Ford, one of the company’s joint ventures, sold 19,789 vehicles in October, showing a 3.21% year-on-year increase. However, Changan Mazda, another joint venture, experienced a decline in sales, with monthly figures dropping by 41.53% compared to the previous year.

Overall, Changan Automobile’s performance in October 2024 reflects a positive growth trajectory for the company, both in domestic and international markets. With a focus on new energy vehicles and strategic partnerships through joint ventures, Changan Automobile continues to establish itself as a key player in the global automotive industry.
