Chery Automobile sets up robotics tech company

Chery Automobile Establishes Robotics Technology Subsidiary

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In a move to further advance its presence in the technology sector, Chinese automaker Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. recently announced the establishment of a wholly-owned subsidiary, Anhui Mojia Zhichuang Robotics Technology Co., Ltd. The new subsidiary has a registered capital of 100 million yuan and is set to focus on the sales and research & development of intelligent robots, industrial robot sales, production of smart manufacturing equipment, AI application software development, AI basic software development, information system integration services, and smart control system integration.

Chery Automobile’s commitment to technological innovation was further underscored by the establishment of Anhui Kaiyang Technology Co., Ltd. in August 2024, which also focuses on the R&D of intelligent robots, AI basic software development, and AI application software development.

Mr. Yin Tongyue, Chairman of Chery Holding, highlighted in his 2025 New Year address the company’s increased investments in companies and research institutions such as LION TECH, ZDrive.ai, solid-state battery research institute, chip research institute, and NEXT AI research institute.

Chery Holding reported impressive results for 2024, with annual sales reaching 2,603,916 vehicles, a 38.4% year-over-year increase and a record high for the company. The automaker also achieved four key milestones in 2024, including reaching annual revenue of 480 billion yuan for the first time, a 50% year-over-year growth. Additionally, annual sales surpassed 2.6 million vehicles, export volume reached 1,144,588 vehicles, marking a 21.4% increase from the previous year, and the sale of 583,569 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in 2024, a remarkable 232.7% surge year on year.
