Electric vehicle (EV) makers in China saw mixed insurance registration numbers last week, with Li Auto leading the pack with 11,400 registrations, followed by Xpeng with 5,400, Zeekr with 5,800, Leapmotor with 8,200, and Aito with 8,400.
Li Auto, which resumed sharing weekly insurance registration numbers earlier this year, reported a total of 51,443 vehicle deliveries in October, marking a 27.26 percent year-on-year increase. The company also guided fourth-quarter vehicle deliveries to be between 160,000 and 170,000 vehicles.
Nio, on the other hand, saw a 4.76 percent increase in insurance registrations for its branded vehicles in China, with 4,400 registrations last week. The company delivered 20,976 vehicles in October, up 30.50 percent year-on-year.
Xpeng reported 5,400 insurance registrations last week, a 3.57 percent decrease from the previous week. The company delivered 23,917 vehicles in October, up 19.57 percent year-on-year.
Tesla, with a factory in Shanghai, had 15,700 insurance registrations in China last week, up 49.52 percent from the previous week. The company sold a total of 68,280 vehicles in October, including both domestic and export sales.
BYD registered 96,300 insurance registrations last week, up 0.73 percent from the previous week. The company sold 502,657 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in October, marking the fifth consecutive month of record highs.
Xiaomi recorded 3,100 insurance registrations last week, its lowest in the past 2 months. The company announced that it had delivered more than 20,000 units of its SU7 electric sedan in October and is on track to meet its full-year delivery target of 100,000 units.
Zeekr reported 5,800 insurance registrations last week, up 13.73 percent from the previous week. The company delivered a record 25,049 vehicles in October, surpassing September’s previous record.
Leapmotor saw 8,200 insurance registrations last week, down 3.53 percent from the previous week. The company delivered 38,177 vehicles in October, marking the fifth consecutive month of record monthly deliveries.
Aito, a brand created by Huawei and Seres Group, had 8,400 insurance registrations last week, down 3.45 percent from the previous week.
Overall, these EV makers in China continue to show strong performance in terms of deliveries and insurance registrations, indicating a growing demand for electric vehicles in the market.
