Chinese Start-Up Dreame Auto Plans to Establish Manufacturing Facility Near Tesla’s Berlin Gigafactory

According to recent reports, Chinese start-up Dreame Auto is considering setting up a manufacturing facility near Tesla’s Berlin Gigafactory. If confirmed, this move would make Dreame Auto the first Chinese car brand to establish production activities in Germany.

In late August, the automotive division of Dreame Technology announced its plans to enter the automotive industry with financing from French banking giant BNP Paribas. Dreame Technology is a well-known global player in electric home appliances, particularly renowned for its vacuum cleaners.

With a presence in over 100 countries and products available at more than 6000 retail sites, Dreame Technology has already assembled a team of nearly 1000 employees for its automotive division. This workforce combines R&D personnel from Dreame’s consumer electronics business with experts from the automotive manufacturing sector.

Dreame Auto’s debut vehicle is set to be an “ultra-luxury pure-electric product” aiming to compete with hypercars like the Bugatti Chiron. The company plans to unveil this high-performance car in 2027.

Joining the ranks of other Chinese tech companies entering the EV market, Dreame is focused on pushing the boundaries of road car performance and directly challenging established brands like Bugatti, Ferrari, and McLaren.

Leveraging its expertise in high-speed electric motor technology developed for consumer devices, Dreame aims to create the fastest car in the world. The company’s founder and CEO, Yu Hao, is confident that their experience in manufacturing compact motors capable of operating at over 200,000rpm will translate seamlessly into the demands of hypercar performance.

Aside from motor technology, Dreame has also commercialized advanced systems such as vision recognition, AI-based path planning, and spatial modeling for its robot vacuums. These technologies will undoubtedly play a crucial role in the development of their hypercar.

With a bold vision and fearless ambition, Dreame Auto is poised to make a significant impact on the automotive industry with its innovative approach to electric vehicle manufacturing. Stay tuned for more updates on Dreame’s journey towards creating the world’s fastest car.
