Rediscovering the Dacia Duster: A Detailed Look Inside and Out

Stepping inside the Dacia Duster, you can’t help but notice the contrast between the outgoing model and the new one. The previous version felt a bit plain and outdated, with hard plastic dominating the interior. However, the new Duster has addressed this issue by incorporating more design elements and shapes, making it feel more modern and visually appealing.

The interior features Y shapes as a motif in the lights, which is echoed in the design of the interior air vents. There are also interesting textures on the door cards and dashboard, with accents of acid green and copper-tinged finishes adding a touch of color and style to the cabin. Despite the use of hard plastic, the overall design is more thoughtful and cohesive.

When it comes to ergonomics, the Duster maintains its reputation for practicality and functionality. The driving position may not be as car-like as some competitors, but the slightly elevated view forward and the high dashboard scuttle give the Duster a rugged 4×4 feel. The spacious front seats offer ample room, although the flat design may not be ideal for long journeys.

Thanks to the switch to a new platform, Dacia’s engineers have managed to create more interior space within the same footprint. Rear passengers benefit from increased legroom, and boot space has also been expanded in front-wheel-drive models. The addition of more digital tech, including a digital gauge cluster and a central touchscreen, brings the Duster up to date with modern trends.

While the digital displays look sleek and function well, the driver display may lack some advanced features compared to competitors. The center touchscreen, although basic and slightly laggy, is easy to navigate and can be enhanced with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. Dacia has maintained a practical approach to button placement, with physical switches for essential functions like climate control and driver assistance systems.

In conclusion, the new Dacia Duster offers a refreshed interior design and improved technology features while retaining its practical and functional appeal. With increased interior space and thoughtful design elements, the Duster is a strong contender in the compact SUV segment. Whether you’re navigating city streets or heading off-road, the Duster delivers a comfortable and enjoyable driving experience.
