BYD’s flagship SUV, the Denza N9, was recently spotted at a dealership in China, as reported by the Chinese website Difans. General Manager of Sales at Denza, Zhao Changjiang, announced earlier this month that the Denza N9 will be available at major dealers around the Lunar New Year, starting on January 29. Test drive activities will commence, followed by the official launch. The SUV will come in both Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) and Electric Vehicle (EV) variants.

According to the sales associate, the base model of the Denza N9, without the roof lidar, will start at 359,800 yuan (approximately 49,500 USD), while the top-end trim is expected to be priced around 450,000 yuan (approximately 61,900 USD).

Difans is an online platform that caters to BYD enthusiasts, focusing on green travel concepts and exchanging knowledge about new energy vehicle technology and usage experiences.

In addition to the standard trims, the Denza N9 will also offer a drone docking station version, as previously revealed by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The Denza N9, positioned as a medium-to-large SUV, measures 5258/2030/1830 mm with a wheelbase of 3125 mm. Built on BYD’s e3 platform, the SUV is expected to feature rear-wheel steering, crab walk, lateral parking, and tank turn capabilities. The advanced driving assistance system, “God’s Eye” BAS 3.0+, is expected to be included in trims equipped with a roof lidar.

The PHEV variant of the Denza N9 will be powered by a 152 kW (204 hp) 2.0T engine and three electric motors with a combined power of 680 kW (912 hp), paired with BYD Blade battery packs. The previously announced pure electric range was 165 km. The EV variant will have three electric motors with a combined output of 710 kW (952 hp), with battery capacity and range details yet to be disclosed.

Inside, the Denza N9 will feature three prominent screens in the front row, along with streaming screens for digital side mirrors, a 50-inch AR-HUD, and a co-pilot entertainment screen. The center console will include wireless charging panels, air-conditioning outlets, and physical controls.

The interior layout of the Denza N9 will accommodate a 2+2+2 seating configuration, with each seat offering electric adjustment, heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The co-pilot seat will have a queen mode and leg support, while rear passengers can enjoy a ceiling entertainment screen and foldable tables.
