Xiaomi is gearing up to make a significant mark in the electric vehicle (EV) market, with Deutsche Bank predicting that the tech giant will deliver 100,000 units of its YU7 SUV in 2025. The official launch of the YU7 is set for July, marking a key milestone for Xiaomi’s foray into the EV space.

Analyst Wang Bin’s team at Deutsche Bank highlighted Xiaomi’s ambitious target of delivering 100,000 YU7 units by the end of 2025, along with an additional 280,000 units of the SU7 sedan. This sets the stage for Xiaomi to establish a strong presence in the EV market and compete with established players.

Xiaomi recently unveiled the key specifications and features of the YU7, generating significant buzz in the industry. The company’s EV unit, Xiaomi EV, had initially planned to deliver 300,000 units in 2025, leveraging the production capacity of its Beijing plant. However, Xiaomi founder Lei Jun announced a revised target of 350,000 units for the year, underscoring the company’s commitment to scaling up its EV operations.

Despite the optimistic outlook, Xiaomi faces challenges in meeting the high demand for its vehicles. The current bottleneck lies in production capacity, with customers experiencing a waiting period of 40-50 weeks for delivery of the SU7 sedan. Xiaomi EV’s factory, which commenced operations in 2023, is currently operating at full capacity to meet the growing demand for its electric vehicles.

To address capacity constraints, Xiaomi is ramping up production at its Beijing plant, with plans to complete the second phase of construction by mid-June. This expansion is expected to enhance Xiaomi’s manufacturing capabilities and streamline the delivery process for customers.

As Xiaomi prepares to launch the YU7 SUV in July, the company is poised to challenge established players in the EV market. With a strong focus on innovation and customer satisfaction, Xiaomi is well-positioned to make a significant impact in the rapidly evolving electric vehicle industry. Stay tuned for further updates on Xiaomi’s EV journey and the launch of the highly anticipated YU7 SUV.
