Dongfeng Motor Expands into Indonesia with New Office Opening

Dongfeng Motor Industry Import & Export Co., Ltd. recently celebrated the opening of its Indonesia office in Jakarta on February 22. This move signifies the Chinese automaker’s continued expansion into right-hand drive markets, reflecting its commitment to global growth and market presence.

The establishment of the Indonesia office is a strategic step in Dongfeng Motor’s internationalization strategy. By setting up a local presence, the company aims to strengthen its brand awareness and influence in Indonesia and neighboring right-hand drive markets. This initiative will enable Dongfeng Motor to better understand the needs of local customers and deliver customized products and services, setting the stage for further market expansion and development.

As part of its internationalization efforts, Dongfeng Motor has set ambitious targets for 2025. With the implementation of its “2+2” export plan, the automaker aims to increase the export share of its wholly-owned brands to more than 20% of the total by 2026. This strategy focuses on enhancing marketing capabilities and transitioning from simply “going global” to “integrating locally.”

In line with its 2025 goals, Dongfeng Motor has outlined specific export targets for passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles. The company aims to export 151,500 passenger vehicles and 40,000 commercial vehicles, with a special emphasis on the European market, where 26,000 units are targeted for export. Additionally, Dongfeng Motor plans to introduce its GX series heavy-duty trucks to markets such as Indonesia, Myanmar, and Australia, with a particular focus on right-hand drive markets. To facilitate market penetration, the company will offer flexible financing solutions through third-party platforms.

With a strategic focus on right-hand drive markets and a commitment to local integration, Dongfeng Motor is poised for continued success and growth on the international stage.
