China Dongfeng Motor Industry Import and Export Company, the global business arm of Dongfeng Motor, is gearing up to make a splash in the international market. In August, the company will be showcasing its latest models at the NADA Auto Show in Nepal and will also be launching the Dongfeng brand in Malaysia. This move comes as part of the company’s strategic transformation towards large-scale and specialized operations in 2024.

Throughout this year, China Dongfeng Motor Industry Import and Export Company has been diligently implementing Dongfeng Motor’s three-year action plan for transformation and upgrading. This includes focusing on advancing marketing and supply chain service transformations, as well as enhancing its international talent pool. These efforts are all aimed at driving significant progress in the company’s export business.

One of the key highlights for Dongfeng Motor in 2024 has been its impressive export numbers. From January to July, the company exported a total of 131,000 vehicles, marking an 8% year-on-year increase. Of particular note is the significant surge in commercial vehicle exports, which saw a 73% year-over-year increase. Additionally, exports of Dongfeng Motor’s self-owned brands also saw a notable jump of 34%. This steady growth in export volumes reflects the company’s positive performance in key overseas markets.

Dongfeng Motor has strategically divided its global market into 14 regions, actively establishing local marketing entities and completing registration for five new representative offices. The company has also expanded its overseas sales and service network, now covering 73 countries and including 19 new regional spare parts centers. Furthermore, Dongfeng Motor has taken a significant step by establishing its first overseas Knocked Down (KD) assembly facility for its VOYAH premium new energy vehicle brand and has plans in place for additional overseas manufacturing sites.
