DreamSmart Group, a leading platform for smart terminal technologies affiliated with Geely, has recently announced a strategic partnership with GEESPACE, a satellite technology and commercial services company backed by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the expansion of DreamSmart’s capabilities in smart electric vehicles, smartphones, and XR technologies.

One of the key outcomes of this partnership is the launch of the “DreamSmart Lucky Star” satellite, developed by GEESPACE. This satellite will operate in the third orbit of Geely’s Future Mobility Constellation, providing reliable communication solutions to support the innovative applications of DreamSmart’s product portfolio.

In addition to the satellite launch, DreamSmart Group has also revealed plans for an AI Ecosystem Conference scheduled for September. This conference will showcase the progress made in implementing the company’s “All in AI” strategy.

The smart mobility industry is undergoing a transformation that is driven by a convergence of technologies such as artificial intelligence, satellite communication, seamless interaction, and cross-industry connectivity. As the industry transitions from 5G to 6G technology, the exploration of integrated “sky-earth” communication networks is becoming increasingly important. Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites, in particular, play a crucial role in providing high-precision positioning services that are essential for enhancing autonomous driving technologies.

GEESPACE, a subsidiary of Geely Holding Group, has been at the forefront of satellite communication technology. The company was established in 2018 with a focus on building a global LEO satellite communication network known as the Geely Future Mobility Constellation. The first phase of this constellation consists of 72 satellites designed to offer real-time data communication services on a global scale.

In a significant milestone, the first nine satellites of the Geely Future Mobility Constellation were successfully launched in June 2022 from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. This was followed by the successful launch of 11 more satellites in February 2024, marking the completion of the second orbital plane of the constellation.

The partnership between DreamSmart Group and GEESPACE represents a significant step forward in the integration of satellite technology with smart terminal technologies. With the launch of the “DreamSmart Lucky Star” satellite and the upcoming AI Ecosystem Conference, both companies are poised to drive innovation and shape the future of the smart mobility industry.
