Autocar’s Drivers of Change Awards Return to Celebrate Diverse Talent in the Automotive Industry
Autocar’s Drivers of Change awards are set to make a comeback on 13 November, following a successful launch earlier this year. This time, the awards will focus on championing diverse talent in the automotive industry.
Hosted in partnership with the SMMT at Stellantis’s UK headquarters in Coventry, the second edition of Drivers of Change will shine a spotlight on new talent from across the industry. The individuals being recognized are either apprentices or in the first two years of their career.
The main objective of the Drivers of Change awards is to showcase the automotive industry as a place where individuals can have a successful career regardless of their background. It aims to promote the industry as an inclusive and welcoming space for professionals from all walks of life.
In this edition, titled Drivers of Change: New Talent, the focus is on individuals who have made a significant impact in their first roles within the industry. This could include those who have joined from backgrounds that are typically under-represented in the automotive sector.
We encourage everyone to spread the word and consider nominating deserving candidates from their organizations, irrespective of which sector of the automotive industry they belong to. If they have a compelling story to share, they could be the next Autocar Driver of Change.

Unlike traditional awards, there are no specific categories for nomination. Anyone who makes it to the list can proudly call themselves an Autocar Driver of Change. In the inaugural edition earlier this year, 40 individuals were recognized for their contributions, particularly in DEI initiatives.
This initiative is part of Autocar’s revamped event calendar. Alongside the annual Autocar Great Women event, which celebrates Rising Stars every other year, Drivers of Change will now have a permanent spot in the autumn slot going forward.
