Chinese Lithium Battery Supplier EVE Energy Unveils 60GWh Super Energy Storage Factory

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese lithium battery supplier EVE Energy recently announced the grand opening of its state-of-the-art 60GWh super energy storage factory in Jingmen city, Hubei province. The company unveiled its latest innovation, the 628Ah ultra-high-capacity cell named “Mr.Big,” which has commenced production at the new facility.

With a focus on innovation, EVE Energy embarked on the development of high-capacity cells in 2022, leading to the successful launch of the 560Ah cell. Today, the company has achieved mass production of the 628Ah cells, which offer increased energy density, improved safety, and reduced integration complexity in energy storage systems. These cells also require fewer components during battery pack assembly, resulting in cost savings.

Collaborating with Professor Yang Hanxi of Wuhan University, EVE Energy developed an innovative electrochemical current collector model to address thermal management and efficiency challenges associated with large-capacity cells. This cutting-edge design effectively reduces internal resistance, minimizes heat generation, and enhances cell safety and reliability.

Ensuring safety and reliability remain top priorities, EVE Energy has implemented smart cell technology that utilizes intelligent sensors to monitor crucial indicators such as gas levels and cell temperatures in real-time. This system provides early warnings and defensive measures in case of abnormalities, guaranteeing operational safety and reliability.

Spanning across a vast area, EVE Energy’s 60GWh super energy storage factory stands as the largest of its kind in the industry in terms of single-unit capacity. Equipped with over 80 advanced technologies and operating with full-process automation, the facility boasts a remarkable production rate of 1.5 cells per second, completing four battery packs per minute, and achieving a daily output exceeding 5MWh.

Committed to upholding superior quality standards, EVE Energy aims to minimize defect rates at the PPB (parts per billion) level. The factory adheres to stringent manufacturing protocols and has implemented a comprehensive digital quality control system. Each cell is assigned a unique “data package” and “battery passport” to ensure full traceability throughout its lifecycle.
