Renault Unveils Spectacular Electric Renault 5 Turbo

Renault has introduced an electrifying new addition to its lineup with the Renault 5 Turbo, a high-performance electric car that promises agility and drift capabilities like never before. Powered by a 70kWh battery pack, this electric vehicle boasts a dedicated drift mode and rally-style vertical handbrake for an exhilarating driving experience.

With a range of 250 miles on a single charge, the Renault 5 Turbo is built for speed. The battery pack is designed for thermal management, allowing the car to reach speeds of up to 168mph before being fast-charged at 350kW. In just 15 minutes, the battery can be charged from 15% to 80%, ensuring minimal downtime on the track.

Renault CEO Fabrice Cambolive expressed the company’s commitment to meeting customer needs with the Renault 5 Turbo, offering extreme sensations at an attractive price point. The goal was to push the boundaries of electric vehicle performance and deliver a car that is both fun to drive and practical for everyday use.

Developed on an all-aluminium platform by Alpine, Renault’s sporting sister brand, the Renault 5 Turbo aims to achieve supercar standards in performance, lightness, agility, and efficiency. The lightweight materials used in the bespoke body construction, along with the carbon composite structure, keep the car’s weight at around 1450kg, making it a true powerhouse on the road.

Designed to resemble a supercar while paying homage to the original 5 Turbo and 5 Turbo 2, the Renault 5 Turbo features aerodynamic front and rear bumpers, a front splitter, and a large air outlet on the bonnet for maximum downforce. With side scoops, rear wing extensions, and large intakes to cool the motors, this electric vehicle is as sleek as it is powerful.

The Renault 5 Turbo’s menacing appearance is complemented by its increased dimensions, with a longer, wider, and taller body than the standard Renault 5. The extended wheelbase and repositioned windscreen give it a unique profile, combining the length of a city car with the width of a supercar for a truly striking look.
